Luna Road: the light at the end of the tunnel

Tunnel Zurqui, considered one of the most dangerous roads in Costa Rica and perhaps Central America, has been for many years a safety concern for the Costa Rican authorities. According to the Costa Rican authorities, the project is intended to reduce the number of fatal accidents that occur every year at this location. Tunnel Zurqui's main safety issue is the lack of visibility drivers face at the tunnel, especially late during the day and at night.
